Why These Natural Ingredients?
Resveratrol and Pterostilbene
Resveratrol and pterostilbene belong to a class of compounds known as stilbenes. Stilbenes are
naturally occurring compounds found in a variety of plants. They are produced to protect the
plant when exposed to an environmental challenge. Resveratrol is a well-researched stilbenes
found in red wines and grapes, while pterostilbene is found in berries such as blueberries and
deerberries. Studies show resveratrol and pterostilbene have potent antioxidant properties and
other health benefits.
Broccoli Seed (SGS)
Broccoli seed extract contains a high amount of glucoraphanin, a glucosinolate that is a precursor
to a specific isothiocyanate called sulforaphane. Sulforaphane is a potent antioxidant and
supports normal detoxification.
The pomegranate fruit contains ellagic acid, punicalagins, anthocyanins and flavonoids.
Pomegranate has strong antioxidant properties. The pomegranate extract used in Resvoxitrol
was carefully selected for its punicoside content and is an extract of the whole fruit. The whole
fruit is squeezed to remove the juice and the extract is made from the remaining pulp, seeds and
skin. This extract is standardized to contain no less than 40-percent punicosides.
Several in vitro studies show that resveratrol, quercetin and pterostilbene in combinations have
a synergistic benefits.
